The special version of the Z car that is now available in the United States is called the Z Heritage Edition.
In the first quarter, the Z's sales performance in the US was significantly better than the Toyota Supra's5. Nissan sold 671 examples of the new Z, marking a 44% increase compared to the previous year2. In contrast, Toyota only managed to sell 484 Supras, which represented a 46% decline in sales2. As a result, the Z comfortably outsold the Supra and showed a stronger sales performance in the US market during that period.
The Z Heritage Edition visually pays homage to the original Datsun 240Z from 1969 through several distinctive design elements1. Firstly, it features an exclusive Sight Orange paint, reminiscent of the classic sports car1. Additionally, a black decal on the hood extends onto the roof and trunk lid, similar to the styling of the original Z. The Heritage Edition also has stickers running along the sides and a special Heritage Edition logo around the Z emblems on the rear fenders.
At the front, the split grille design of the Z Heritage Edition takes after the original Z, giving it a retro-inspired appearance. The equivalent Japanese model, known as the Fairlady Z Customized Edition, features a retro-flavored Fairlady Z badge on the upper grille and rear spoiler, further emphasizing its connection to the original Datsun 240Z. The Z Heritage Edition also includes subtle fender extensions and 19-inch wheels finished in black, adding a modern touch while still honoring the iconic 1969 sports car1.
