Toxic culture is the norm at the FDIC, leadership cited in report

An external investigation into the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has revealed a toxic workplace culture, with over 500 employee complaints about sexual harassment, discrimination, and other misconduct. The report highlighted a "patriarchal, insular, and risk-averse culture" that discouraged complaints and perpetuated misconduct. FDIC Chairman Martin Gruenberg, who has been with the agency for nearly two decades, apologized and vowed to implement changes, although some question his suitability for leading this transformation. Calls for his resignation have intensified, particularly from Rep. Patrick McHenry, who insists on new leadership to address these issues.
