Nihon Falcom is currently developing several unannounced titles, including a new action RPG and a new game in the Trails series. The studio plans to expand the number of titles it releases and create new intellectual property content and games.

Nihon Falcom is creating new IPs after 20 years to avoid stagnation and give their team new challenges. Working on the Trails series for so long made the team ask MMO-like questions and stagnated the younger staff's development. Allowing them to create new IPs will make them stronger developers and contribute more ideas to the company's games.

The Trails series is about 80-90% complete, according to Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo. While there will be more games released, it won't continue on too much longer, and there won't be an arc as big as Cold Steel again.
