Truth Social keeps shrinking despite the Trump trial and looming election

Despite former President Donald Trump's significant stake in Trump Media & Technology Group, which recently went public with a valuation over $9 billion, its main platform, Truth Social, is struggling with user growth. Data indicates a 19% year-over-year decline in daily active users, dropping to about 113,000 in April. This decline persists even amidst heightened media attention from Trump's trial and the upcoming presidential election.
Other social media platforms are also facing challenges in user growth, but Truth Social's decline is notably steeper compared to its peers. For instance, X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit saw a mixed performance in user metrics, while Truth Social's combined web and app audiences in the US are significantly smaller than those of its competitors. Despite the high valuation, the platform's performance and user engagement remain critical concerns for its future success.
