Ubisoft's free-to-play shooter XDefiant gets release date after numerous delays

Ubisoft's free-to-play shooter, XDefiant, is set to launch on May 21st for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC after multiple delays. Initially announced in 2021, the game faced setbacks due to inconsistencies in gameplay experience. A six-week "preseason" will precede the official release, featuring five modes and 14 maps. XDefiant combines elements from Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and The Division, and will offer a quarterly update schedule post-launch with new content.
