Upcoming PS5 Update Will Allow New Ways for Players to Connect

Sony is set to introduce a new feature to the PS5, enabling players to invite others to multiplayer games via a shareable link. This link can be generated on the console or through the PlayStation App and shared across social media or direct messages. The feature, which does not require players to be friends on PS5, aims to streamline the process of joining games, enhancing connectivity and interaction.

Additionally, the feature will be supported across all compatible PS5 games, although some may require updates. Sony is also integrating a unique widget for Discord to display real-time multiplayer session statuses, ensuring players know the session's activity before joining. This update, as explained by Sony's Sabrina Meditz, is designed to complement existing methods of game session management on the PS5.
