Walmart is revamping its Neighborhood Market stores, opening new larger locations as part of an initiative to open or convert around 150 stores. The first two revamped stores, located in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia, offer expanded space and a broader range of products, including a larger fresh department. These stores also feature enhanced facilities for pickup, delivery, health services, and accommodations for nursing mothers.

Walmart operates approximately 4,600 stores across the United States. The company employs about 1.6 million people in these locations.

The newly opened Walmart Neighborhood Market stores in the Dune Lakes area of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and the Vine City neighborhood of Atlanta each feature 57,000 square feet of salesfloor and pickup and delivery space. This size is approximately 17,000 square feet larger than the average existing Neighborhood Market stores1. The additional space in these new stores allows for a broader assortment of products, particularly in the fresh departments such as bakery, produce, meat, and dairy2. Additionally, the expanded space accommodates larger delis with more hot food options, wider aisles, and enhanced facilities for pickups and deliveries. These features represent a significant expansion compared to the typical layout and offerings of the average Neighborhood Market.
