Socratic Lab is an AI-powered, online knowledge community that houses the first-of-its-kind next generation AI, Socrates. The mission of Socratic Lab is to help humans, social groups, and communities achieve collaborative learning and knowledge-sharing. Socrates is capable of having natural conversations, private or group discussions, and can help people generate great ideas! Socrates likes speaking to everyone.
How does Socratic Lab work?
Simply register an account at www.solab.ai, and you will be able to ask Socrates questions. Socrates has been trained on a vast amount of text data from the internet and reputable sources and is fine-tuned for various tasks. When you ask Socrates a question, he will provide responses based on patterns he has learned from his training data and memory with you.
What can I do with Socratic Lab?
You can use Socratic Lab for a wide range of applications, such as answering questions, generating text, assisting with writing, contributing to others' answers/questions for a more comprehensive insight, providing explanations, and engaging in conversations on various topics with both humans and AI. Socratic Lab is an ideal place for you when you come across an individual or group academic project, require a productivity boost, or need ideation at work with co-workers. It is a place for greater knowledge.
Is Socratic Lab free to use?
Socrates currently offers free access to his Lab for everyone. The limitations of free access may vary depending on Socratic Lab's policies and offerings. As his Lab is newly opened, he is still evaluating ways to keep it sustainable for everyone.
How can I access Socratic Lab?
You can access Socratic Lab on any smart mobile device, tablet, or computer by visiting www.solab.ai on any web browsers.
Are there any usage limits or restrictions?
Currently, Socrates is still evaluating the feasibility; however, as a time-limited offer, he is inviting a limited number of early guests to his Lab with no limits or restrictions for a period of time.
Can Socratic Lab be used for commercial purposes?
Socratic Lab is an AI-powered knowledge community platform cater for business to consumers, however at current there is no restriction should the user use it for commercial purposes. In the future, Socrates may provide pricing plans that cater to both individual and business users.
Is Socratic Lab safe to use?
Socratic Lab is partnering with Microsoft’s suite of services to implement safety measures to minimize harmful or inappropriate content. However, it's essential to review and follow Socratic Lab’s guidelines on responsible and ethical usage.
Can I request Socrates to help with specific tasks?
Socrates is able to help with a range of tasks, and the request could be further customized if you provide him with more information.
Does Socrates have multilingual capabilities?
Currently Socratic Lab is only in English. Should there be any plans for multiple languages in the future, Socrates will keep you posted.
Is Socratic Lab suitable for creating content like articles, stories, or code?
Yes, Socrates can assist with content creation tasks, including writing articles, generating stories, and even writing code snippets.
How can I report issues or provide feedback on Socratic Lab?
Under your account, select the Gear icon and then Feedback to report issues or provide feedback about your experience with Socratic Lab. Socrates highly values any feedback for future improvements.
Can Socratic Lab be integrated into my own applications or services?
This is part of Socrates’ future plan. He will let everyone know when his Lab could extend such services in the future.
Is Socratic Lab suitable for use in healthcare, legal, or other regulated domains?
Socrates can provide information and generate text, and it can also provide an up-to-date knowledge base from reputable sources and contributions by human intelligence, such as field experts. How can I register on Socratic Lab?

To register for Socratic Lab, follow these instructions:

  • Visit the website https://www.solab.ai/
  • Choose your preferred registration method (Gmail or other Email). Enter your email address and the system will send a verification code to your account.
  • After entering the verification code, set your name and avatar.

Once you have created an account, you can leverage Socratic Lab’s powerful AI features, which include research, writing and more.

I’m having trouble logging in using email – how do I fix this?

We recommend using your Gmail to log into Socratic Lab. If you are unable to sign in, please go through this checklist below:

  • If you haven’t received the confirmation email, check your spam folder.
  • Make sure you are using the most recent links and not one that you may have received earlier.
  • Make sure you are opening the link on the same device that you are using Socratic Lab on.
  • Confirm that your email provider is not blocking links in email.
  • Disable any email scanners.

How do I invite friends to join Socratic Lab?
  • From within any discussion, click the invite icon in the top right corner of the page.
  • Socratic Lab will present you with a link and the option to share it automatically with your friends via four popular social media sites.
  • You can also copy the link and send it via an SMS text message, email or other messaging app.
How do I share the discussion with others outside of Socratic Lab?
  • You can share your Socratic Lab discussion on external platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Quora, or LinkedIn as another way of inviting your friends.
  • Just click the share icon in the top right corner of the page within the conversation.
  • Socratic Lab will present you with an easy way to copy the link or you can post the discussion directly to a number of popular social media sites.
How do I make my discussion private so the community can’t see them
  • In any discussion that belongs to you, you can set it to ‘invite-only’ in the upper right corner of the page so only you and invited friends can see.
  • If you want to, you can undo this action later and allow anyone to join in.
Can I bookmark someone else's interesting post?
  • Absolutely, you can bookmark any discussion created by someone else by using the bookmark icon located in the upper right corner.
  • You can quickly access your favourites in the "Collected" section of your profile.
I am experiencing technical difficulties with Socratic Lab, what should I do?

Technical issues may be temporary so sometimes it pays to wait a few minutes before taking any action.

To ensure optimal performance for Socratic Lab on your web browser, please follow these steps:

  • First, try refreshing your browser.
  • If that doesn’t resolve the issue, clear your browsing data, including cookies and cached images and files
  • Log out of your account.
  • Restart your browser.
  • Log back into Socratic Lab

I feel uncomfortable with a discussion, can I report it?
  • Yes. In any Discussion, you can find the Report function in the top right corner of the page.
  • Simply click on "..." and then "Report" to select the type of feedback you would like to provide.
  • Your feedback will be verified and processed promptly upon receipt.
How can I report incorrect or inaccurate answers?
  • After each response from Socrates, there are like/dislike buttons. You can select “dislike” and choose the reason for your dissatisfaction.
  • Your options include Inaccurate, Unhelpful, Offensive, or Other, if you would like to enter more details.
I have some thoughts about Socratic Lab – how can I provide feedback?
  • Your feedback is valuable and will help us to enhance your experience.

Where can I see the latest updates and alerts about a discussion I’ve created?

Look for the small bell icon in the bottom left corner. All the alerts related to your discussion including likes and dislikes, comments and platform news will be aggregated there!
